Moxa Warmers & Bulbs

Safety Warmer
Safety Warmer
The Safety Warmer is a new and innovative acupuncture point warming device. It is an ideal alternative to burning moxa in a smoke-free office and for patients sensitive to smoke. Provides similar benefits to traditional moxa heat therapy but with a regulated temperature and without smoke or odor. The Safety Warmer is so safe and easy-to-use it can be sold to patients for at-home treatments. The probe is simply placed directly on desired points and moved or removed as needed until skin area becomes pink, making sure to adjust for individual sensitivity. A thin cotton fabric may also be used to modify the heat. For enhanced benefits, this device can be used in combination with Moxa Balm, Spray, or Tincture.

The Safety Warmer is available in 3 models, pictured above: the Standard Model, Battery Pack Model and Variable Model. Each use a "moxa pole shaped" insulated hand probe which is approximately 7" x 0.8" dia. Heat is provided by a 0.3" dia rounded copper heating head. Temperature is achieved after 5 minutes of warm-up.

The Safety Warmer Standard and Battery Pack models operate at a pre-set temperature of 118°F ± 1°. This temperature provides the maximum therapeutic effect without the risk of burns. Both models include a 110-volt AC adapter (UL approved).

The Variable professional office model, is housed in a durable 7.5" x 3.4" x 2.5" case, allows the temperature to be adjusted from room temperature to 122°F. This higher temperature adjustment may also permit use for Akabane heat testing. Temperature is displayed on a small LED screen. 110 volt AC powered.

All 3 units are made with UL approved components and come with a 1-year limited warranty.

NOTE:
Direct moxa, indirect moxa, and needle moxa should always be administered and used under the direction or supervision of a qualified practitioner.

Do not leave patient unattended during any moxa use.

Do not use moxa on the face, soft skin, or other sensitive body areas. Do not use moxa on infants or young children. Do not use moxa on patients who are not able to detect the sensations of heat or pain (i.e. elderly, patients with nerve damage, etc).

When using needle moxa, a protective shield, (i.e. aluminum foil), must be placed under and around the needle to protect the skin from loose or falling moxa ash.

When using moxa rolls, the burned ash must be frequently removed by gently tapping the side of the roll against a suitable container. For patient safety, do not use moxa rolls or any moxa product if damaged or cracked.

Always ignite stick-on moxa first and then apply to the point. If heat becomes uncomfortable, remove or move moxa to another location. If used incorrectly, redness or a small heat blister may appear after application.
