GAUSS STRENGTH
Gauss is a measure of a magnet's magnetic field strength and varies inversely proportional to the square of the distance from the magnet. Generally, the surface gauss of a magnet is used in descriptions of the strength of biomagnets.

DEPTH OF PENETRATION
The physical mass or size of a magnet also influences the intensity of magnetic wave energy and depth of field penetration. Generally, the larger the magnet the deeper the magnetic field will penetrate. For example, the magnetic field from a small, high strength, 0.2" dia, 2,500 gauss REC magnet will penetrate 1 to 3 inches into the body, whereas a large 2" x 4" x 1" 1,000 gauss ferrite magnetic block will penetrate 1 to 2 feet or more.
