Suan Zao Ren Tang is an essential classical formula for healthy sleep patterns. It helps if you have difficulty falling asleep and if you have difficulty staying asleep. At night your defensive Qi – Wei Qi – travels back into your body to repair your organs. It helps to reset the sleep cycle by helping that process. It’s a formula that you take for a while and then you start sleeping better. As you start sleeping better, stop taking the formula and then have it on hand for when you know it’s going to be “one of those nights!”

Contraindications: Do not take this formula if you have symptoms of excessive dampness, like a lot of phlegm or mucus, and you have a thick tongue fur.
Do not take if you catch a cold because it will drive the cold deeper into your system because of the way it works. However, as soon as you have recovered you can take it again no problem.
If you are taking this formula and you come down with a cold, stop taking it. It is a supplementing formula that could also strengthen your cold, thus slowing your recovery.
