This formula originated in the Tuina Department of the Anhui College of Chi-nese Medicine in Hefei, Anhui province, China. Its function is to warm the channels and move Qi, quicken blood flow and strengthen sinews and bones. Commonly used for rheumatic complaints, and for old, non-healing, closed traumatic injuries after all swelling, redness and heat have disappeared.

Functions for Herbs Used in Formula
* Chuan Wu, Cao Wu and Rou Guiy warm the channels and scatter cold.
* Sheng Jiang and Ru Xiang dispel dampness and move Qi.
* Hong Hua, Tao Ren, Dang Gui, and Mo Yao quicken the blood and trans-form stasis. Mo Yao also enters network vessels where it frees the flow and stops pain.
* Ma Qian Zi frees the flow of network vessels, disperses swelling, and reduces chronic pain typically complicated by blood stasis.
* Zi Ran Tong dispels stasis, knits bones, and reconnects sinews.
* Gan Cao moistens skin and prevents the other, harsher ingredients in this formula from irritating or damaging skin.
