This formula was developed about 2000 years ago by one of the most renowned physicians of that time, Zhang Zhongjing, to treat pi syndrome. Ban Xia Xie Xin Tang targets issues of accumulation and lack of circulation such as blockages of cold heat, disharmony between the stomach and the intestines, and barriers to the dynamic of the middle qi, by strengthening and harmonizing the stomach and intestines, redirecting rebellious qi downward, and removing accumulations.
