Buzhong Yiqi Tang by Classical Pearls is an ancient, unique variation of the quintessential Spleen qi tonic, Si Junzi Tang (Four Gentlemen Decoction). It first appeared in Li Dongyuan’s influential 13th century work, A Treatise on the Spleen and Stomach (Pi wei lun) where it was featured as the core prescription of Li’s monograph on the pivotal function of the middle burner for the maintenance of physical and mental health. It traditionally has been used to address the prolapse of anatomical organs, Spleen disorders resulting in low energy, dimming of the sensory organs, diarrhea or enuresis, and chronic bleeding or sweating. Modern usages for Buzhong Yiqi Tang include post-surgery prescription in order to speed up wound healing and prevent the development of anemia, application during radiotherapy and chemotherapy (specifically for individuals with weak digestive systems), and for a variety of Spleen imbalances.
