FOUNDED BY DR. HEINER FRUEHAUF
Dr. Heiner Fruehauf, founder of Classical Pearls, comes from a family tradition rooted in natural healing practices including herbalism and homeopathy. A scholar of Chinese medicine, philosophy, and East Asian studies, he earned his doctorate from the University of Chicago and completed advanced clinical training at Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China.
For over three decades, Heiner has dedicated his work to preserving and advancing the traditions of Classical Chinese Medicine through teaching, research, clinical practice, and direct apprenticeship with renowned masters in China. He is the founding professor of the College of Classical Chinese Medicine at the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon, and the director of the Heron Institute, a nonprofit focused on the preservation of traditional life sciences.
He founded Classical Pearls in 2008 after years in clinical experience treating complex chronic conditions and recognizing the need for potent, traditionally rooted herbal formulations designed for long-term constitutional care. Today, he remains deeply involved in the sourcing, formulation, and production of the Classical Pearls line.
