Course Overview
After 40 years of treating peripheral neuropathy (PN), I developed a 5 point (10 needle) protocol for PN in the feet and lower legs and a 3 point (6 needle) protocol for PN in the hands and lower arms as well as a protocol for how to stimulate these points. Videos of actual treatments will be shown.

You will learn a key to achieving high success rates is the correct spacing of treatments throughout the three stages of the treatment process.

You will also learn about the impressive research showing that acupuncture can spark nerve regeneration - something no other treatment can do.

Successfully completing this course will provide you the opportunity be part of the campaign to raise awareness about acupuncture for treating PN and provide you the option to enroll in a database of acupuncturists trained in these protocols. Proceeds from the sale of this course will be used to promote acupuncture for PN and generate referrals to the acupuncturists in this database.

You will learn:

(1) Details of the four main types of PN.

(2) Explaining the treatment process using research.

(3) Selecting the correct needle gauge.

(4) Stimulating each point for its therapeutic and diagnostic abilities.

(5) Spacing treatments throughout the entire treatment process.

(6) Ending the treatment process so that the patient's progress is as stable as possible.

(7) How to explain to patients when they need to return for tune-up treatments or a second series of treatments.

    What People Are Saying

This was a very informative and practical class. I was able to immediately apply what I learned. Matthew Bauer is very experienced and knowledgeable in the subject matter and provided many hints on patient management (which is important in getting good results). He also had many research studies to document acupuncture's effectiveness in treating Peripheral Neuropathy. I applaud him for the work he is doing to get us recognized in treating this difficult condition.

Judith K.- United States of America

A great, easy to digest and informative journey into PN patients and treatment.

Amanda N.- United States of America

Felt it was helpful for a baseline for PN and plan to use it in my clinic.

This is a clear and simple approach to helping patients with PN. I have several patients who I will be using this protocol on this week and look forward to seeing results. The material presented was concise and convincing. I especially liked video demonstrations that were used with feedback from subjects as they felt sensations. You could hear the excitement and hope in the voices of people who'd been living with significant numbness over long periods of time. Very hopeful. Amazing that acupuncture can help with regeneration of nerves! Susan Mc, USA

I am excited to get this protocol started in my practice and to be apart of the database he is creating. Thank you , Matt. Amy W. USA

Amy O.- United States of America

Many unusual cases are brought to solo acupuncture clinics like mine (for more than 20 years). With experience, one's instincts guide treatments and results. Thus is 'practice'. In the cases of neuropathy and this course: I am happy to be validated with points I have chosen and reassured by outcomes that created some cloud of doubt of my actions (hyper nerve response after 1 treatment that soon calmed). The RESEARCH is great for those who need education about the effectiveness of Acupuncture. Is it not an amazing to experience the grace of being an instrumental part of carefully awakening a part of a person's body (mind and spirit) so that she/he can more completely be engaged in the world? I am lucky to have been called into the sphere of practicing this medicine.

    About Matthew Bauer

Matthew began his full-time practice of acupuncture and Chinese Medicine in 1986 after several years of studying Taoist history and philosophy with a 74th generation Taoist Master. Matthew has worked with several acupuncture organizations in the U.S. as well as serving as an Expert Witness in both California State and private cases. Having served as a consultant in the managed care industry since 1998, Matthew helped to create the first managed care acupuncture-based credentialing and utilization guidelines and now serves on the Board of Directors of American Specialty Health Group, Inc. As a managed care consultant, Matthew took part in a Think-Tank with a dozen experienced Acupuncturists from the U.S., Mainland China, Taiwan, and Korea. That experience convinced Matthew of the need to find ways to gather experienced Acupuncturists together to share their knowledge to further our understanding of this ancient healing system. Matthew has authored dozens of articles and two books and he has a passion for educating people about acupuncture believing it to be a responsibility of those who understand how it works to share this knowledge with those who don’t. He is also a Founder and the President of the Acupuncture Now Foundation.
