Course Overview
The sheer complexity of theory of how the Organs and Meridians work together to nourish and protect the body and mind can be overwhelming to think of.

The theory we have been taught at school can be difficult to translate into something instantaneously useful in clinic.

And at times it seems as if there is a disconnect between parts of the theory and the practice.

Both Meridian Therapy and SAAM Acupuncture are fairly simple and very effective styles of acupuncture. When fused together they can provide a more direct way of understanding physiology and pathology which can help to clear up confusion and provide for a simple, useful approach to acupuncture which is true to classical acupuncture medicine and its principles.

The previous course "Pulse and Abdominal Maps of the SAAM Organ Pairs" introduced a new way of diagnosing Deficiency and Excess of the SAAM Organ pairs using a palpatory approach.

This follow-up course will introduce a way of thinking of the Organ pairs, their associated Meridians as well as of their physiology and pathology which will provide a clearer context for diagnosis and treatment.

    About Thomas Sorenson

I was introduced to acupuncture in 1996 while undertaking studies in Korean language and culture in Seoul, South Korea. One acupuncture treatment with a few needles on the opposite leg of the knee that I had injured during martial arts practice took away my knee pain instantly and completely. This experience changed my life around - from the first needle I had a new destination. I had to learn acupuncture. After returning to Copenhagen, Denmark, from Korea, I started studying TCM. I went into private practice immediately after graduating, but didn’t find the TCM style of acupuncture a good match for me so I started looking at different styles of acupuncture and Japanese Meridian Therapy showed up on my radar. I was very fortunate to be accepted as a student of Ikeda Masakazu Sensei. He instilled in me a deep respect for the classics and showed me how to think in terms of basic principles and how to be pragmatic about them. I really owe him my practice. Now I practice acupuncture based on Meridian Therapy diagnostic- and needling techniques, guided by the classics and incorporating the very powerful protocols of Korean Saam acupuncture. ...and after 17 years of practice I am still having fun in the clinic every day.

    *CEU/CPD Approvals

Some accreditation bodies have course approval expirations. If the approval expires, you will see a notice next to the name with a date of expiration: "[Until YYYY/MM/DD]". Please factor this date into your own renewal deadline. If an approval expires, you will be able to request that it is renewed and we will submit it for you within 2 business days. Renewals normally come back to us after 30 days. If your accreditation body is not listed under the "Approved" section, you may find it under the "Pending" section. That means that it is either currently pending approval, or that it is available for you to request: "[Upon Request]". New course approvals usually come back to us after 45 days. We use an automated system within our platform that allows you to make these requests in an easy and convenient way. Just visit the course page in your Net of Knowledge account and click the "Request Approval" button at the top. Each "Course and CEUs/CPDs" purchase grants you 1 request per accreditation body. If you request a course approval and do not complete it before its new expiration date, you will need to purchase another "CEU/CPD Add-On" to make another request. If the course is ineligible for approval with an accreditation body due to their subject-matter policies, it will be listed as "[Ineligible]", and no requests will be possible for the course.
