Shen-Gem is a modification of Ginseng and Longan formula (gui pi tang), designed to strengthen the body while calming agitation. Ginseng (ren shen), astragalus (huang qi), atractylodes (bai zhu) tonifies Qi. Salvia (dan shen) and amber (hu po) dispel stagnant blood. Vladimiria souliei (mu xiang) and cardamon (sha ren) move stagnant Qi. Poria (fu ling), White atractylodes (bai zhu), and ginger (gan jiang) dispel accumulated dampness. Zizyphus (suan zao ren), polygala (yuan zhi), and amber (hu po) act as sedatives, while also improving memory, concentration, and relaxation. Shen-Gem is for insomnia due to heart blood deficiency, whereby the patient has difficulty falling asleep.
