This formula was first published in “Discussion of Cold Damage” by the renowned Han dynasty physician Zhang Zhongjing. In this formula, Cinnamon releases the exterior and muscle layer, corrects the ying and wei, warms the channels and collaterals, and dispels cold. Pueraria (Kudzu) is used to purge heat, extinguish wind, and release the muscles.
