Semi-permanent needles to enhance auriculotherapy.
Created in 1978, ASP ear needles have been used to enhance auriculotherapy treatments. These small, semi-permanent needles are shaped like a dart, are designed to stay in auricular points longer for greater stimulation, and are available in stainless steel, 24k gold-plating, or titanium. The gold-plated needles contain no latex or nickel, making them ideal choices for patients with allergies. Each ASP has its own needle injector which consists of a guide to accurately position the needle, and a plunger for insertion. The injector also contains a magnet for added stimulation. These magnetic injectors may be given to the patient to further stimulate the point containing the ASP needle. ASP needles include hypoallergenic adhesive plasters, which can be used over the needle for added protection. Sample pack of 4 gold and 4 stainless steel needles. Dr. Paul Nogier (1908-1996), a neurophysiologist fascinated by acupuncture, homeopathy and psychology, demonstrated in the beginnings of the 1950s, that certain points on the external ear corresponded to organs or systems and that their distribution corresponded to the image of an inverted foetus. This representation, now recognized world-wide, is the basis for the practice of Auriculotherapy.
